What I Ate: June 2, 2009 (Chi Buffet)

Lunch: Tina cooked kong xin cai and a shrimp in hoisin sauce dish. The shrimp doesn't look as good in the picture as when Tina finished cooking because I was busy and couldn't eat immediately. By the time I photographed it, it had cooled down and the corn starch coating had absorbed much of the sauce giving it a lumpy, dull finish.

Dinner: We had to run some errands so we ended up trying the Chi Buffet (9900 S I H 35, Austin, TX‎ - (512) 292-0303) in the shopping complex we were picking stuff up from. Chi's food was pretty decent for a buffet - some of the stuff was bland and some unappetizing, but many of the options were quite tasty (I particularly liked the jalapeno chicken, fried chicken wings, crawfish, baked scallops, and baked abalone). For a bit less than $10 per person for dinner, we thought it was a good deal.
