What I Ate: April 1, 2009 (Porridge Place)

I thought about writing a spoof or a joke article in honor of April Fools' Day, but I'm too tired to. My parents were up in Santa Clara to help move some stuff of ours out that we won't be taking to Texas. We discussed what we wanted for lunch and ended up going to Porridge Place (10869 N Wolfe Rd, Cupertino, CA‎ - (408) 873-8999‎) in Cupertino Village. It's a Taiwanese-style rice porridge restaurant where you pick a few small dishes to accompany (a presumably unlimited supply of) rice porridge.

We had Chinese mustard, bean curd, and chitterlings (or maybe it was pork stomach instead of intestines). On the other plate we had squid (prepared in a style which my father loved to eat growing up and said he hasn't had in thirty years), bamboo shoots, and lion's heads (Chinese pork meatballs with water chestnut).

For dinner, we raided the fridge for left overs. We split the remaining Pizza Hut lasagna and ate the Chinese food leftovers from earlier in the week. I also prepared a quick salad and had that with my lasagna.
