The Daves took me to San Tung Chinese Restaurant (1031 Irving St, San Francisco, CA‎ - (415) 242-0828) in the Sunset neighborhood of San Francisco. Dave Lu had been telling me about their fried chicken wings for a while, so we made a special trip out to make sure I had a chance to taste it. Dave ordered a bunch of food and we ate them as they arrived. Everything we had was prepared very well - definitely well above average and worth eating.

The first dish was Mu Shu Pork, which is something I haven't had in quite some time.

Next, the pork dumplings arrived. The dumplings were good, but not exceptional. I think it's the only dish I wouldn't order again (instead, I would try the Shrimp and Leek Dumplings which Papa recommended).

The green beans were also really well prepared. They cooked it perfectly so the beans were fully cooked but very crispy. They were flavorful and the seasonings stuck nicely to the beans (sometimes they just slide off and the beans taste like they are just boiled - but not at San Tung).

Finally, the chicken wings arrived. I found the drumettes to be a little drier than I like my wings to be. The wingettes were perfectly cooked - juicy and tender. The crispy layer was very thin but very crispy while the sauce added layers of sweet, salty, and spiciness to the wings. These are some of the best tasting chicken wings I've ever had.

Dave also ordered the fried flounder. The sauce of the flounder was milder than the chicken, but matched really well with the fish. I think we all thought this was the best dish - even better than the wings.

For dinner, I heated up the four wingettes we didn't eat at lunch and shared them with Tina. Since it's heavily sauced there's no way to get the crispiness back. Tina really liked the taste of the wings.

I also ate the rest of the leftovers from lunch. (The string beans and a little bit of the mu shu pork.)

I also heated a bowl of rotini with meat sauce.
