What I Ate: November 15, 2009 (Costco, Serrano's)

Lunch: This week marks the final days before we close on our house. Many errands to be done. Fast lunch at Costco. Polish sausage for me (and a little of Tina's pizza slice).

Dinner: Had fish tacos at Serrano's - this time it wasn't as good as last time. Pretty bland actually. I asked for two more servings of pico de gallo and that helped quite a bit as did a few liberal squeezes of the limes that came with the meal. The rice was also dry and had some hard tough bits. The fish also tasted really… well, fishy.

Lunch: The rest of the leftover wild mushroom risotto - still delicious.

Dinner: On our way to Home Depot, we stopped in at KFC where I decided to try one of their variety box meals. Of the different types of chicken (sandwich, strips, original drumstick) that I tried, the original was still the one that I liked the most… the rest, I could do without. Next time, I'll just get three pieces of the orginal recipe dark meat and be done with it.

Lunch: After meeting with our general inspector we stopped in at Steak 'n Shake to try their hot dogs. Their hot dogs aren't as good as their burgers, but not too bad. They did look visually unappealing though. It's not really fair to compare the real thing at a low-cost chain restaurant to the picture on their menu, but it's fun to do so.

Lunch: The last habanero sausage in the freezer was heated and served to me on a toasted bun. Then Tina sauteed some of the last of the summer squash.

What I Ate: November 10, 2009 (Blue Bamboo)

Dinner: Blue Bamboo again - we went to visit the new house and took Tina's parents along to help inspect the new floor, so that meant we needed to eat dinner somewhere that was not too foreign to the Chinese palate. Of the restaurants near our new home, that would be Blue Bamboo.

Combination fried rice (the rice was a little too dry and chewy)

Lunch: Grabbed a quick lunch at Chick-Fil-A on the way home from inspecting the subfloor of the house. Deluxe Chick-Fil-A sandwich with fries and salad.

Dinner: We heated up the chicken soup that Tina made a few nights ago and finished that off.

Dinner: Steak 'n Shake for dinner - I got a Guacamole Steakburger with Bacon. Instead of fries, I decided on trying their Beef Vegetable Soup (which was a bit too salty). After, we ended up getting some fries anyway.

Lunch: Again, while running errands for our soon-to-be new house, we found ourselves at Barton Creek Square where we decided to have lunch at Nordstrom Cafe Bistro. Tina ordered the special - a Shrimp Risotto (apparently made with Gulf brown shrimp since it had a mild but insistent bromine/iodine taste).

I had the Bistro Club Sandwich. The fries were a bit dry, but everything else was well-prepared. I like being able to dine somewhere and not worry about if we're going to enjoy the food or not.

Lunch and Dinner: Tina made another big pot of chicken soup and we ate, salted boiled chicken (better than it sounds), unctuous soup, bread, avocado, and pears for lunch and dinner.
