After we moved and settled in, I got one of these laundry sorters with 3 bags and a hanging bar. We used to just throw everything in a laundry basket in one corner of our bedroom, and that was all the space I could afford to allocate to dirty laundry. Now our master closet seems to be as big as our old master bathroom, so I figured why not make laundry easier and be more organized :)? I really like this laundry sorter for several reasons:

1. Pre-sorting - dirty laundry is already sorted (light, dark, colors) by the time I wash the loads; no need to dig through the pile in the overfilled basket for different colors
2. Decent size cotton canvas bags - large enough to hold a week or more's worth of laundry, and can be washed; handle bars are nice and sturdy; I like being able to take one bag at a time to the laundry room
3. Adjustable hanging bar - I've used it more than expected, for hanging damp towels or for air drying delicate clothes; adjustable height accommodates varying space requirements
4. Swiveling wheels - allows the laundry sorter to be moved around if needed, a very handy feature
5. Quality materials and construction - not hard to put together out of the box; chrome frame is sturdy and smooth; seems like it will last forever

This is my first laundry sorter, and now that I've used one I can't imagine not having one :). I bought ours from Costco.com but for those who don't have Costco membership, Amazon.com also sells it (at a higher price): Seville Classics 3-Bag Laundry Sorter with Hanger

  • Our house has stairs between the bedroom and the laundry in the garage. D'oh!

  • We have stairs as well, which makes it very handy to have the handles on the canvas bags.
