What I Ate: February 21, 2010 (Texadelphia)

Dinner: We stopped in at the Texadelphia on Brodie Lane to try their Tex-Mex influenced Philly Cheesesteaks. We split two different sandwiches.

The Texican Beef with grilled onions, mozzarella and lots of sliced jalapenos. Comes with a side of Queso to pour on top.

The Hickory Real barbecue flavor with a twist. A beef and onion cheesesteak loaded with aged cheddar cheese, topped with our homemade Hickory sauce and tangy cherry peppers.

We felt both sandwiches were missing a lot of potential flavor. The grilled (shredded) steak was low on flavor requiring ample amounts of barbecue sauce or queso to make it edible. We're not ready to write off Texadelphia yet, but I think we'll try a different location next time.

  • I usually cover mine in their special mustard sauce, which I love. It fixes all flavorless beef ills.

  • I'll have to remember to try that when we get around to eating there again.

  • I used to live in Philly and now live in Texas. I've had Texadelphia-> try getting it only with Cheese whiz and onions (which is the classic philly way). I've had success at texadelphia with that.
