What I Ate: March 20, 2009 (Taco Bell, Pizza My Heart)

I found myself really hungry after running a few errands today. I was next to a Taco Bell, so I went in and ordered three crunchy taco supremes.

Tina and I went to see The Reader (4.5/5.0) but because of the timing of the movie we needed to eat some place close to the theater. The AMC Saratoga 14 has a Pizza My Heart (850 El Paseo De Saratoga, San Jose, CA‎ - (408) 364-0400‎) right next to it, so I suggested that. Neither of us had ever had Pizza My Heart, and we were pleasantly surprised at the tastiness of the pizza slices. We split a slice of combination pizza.

And a slice of the Big Sur (portabello mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, and roasted garlic). Very tasty, but a bit saltier than the combination. The edges and some of the bottom of this slice were also crispy (I assume due to the quick toasting the slices get in the oven before being served).

  • The Big Sur has 40 cloves of garlic on each pizza (or…used to anyways…)

Their pizza is pretty good if you like huge slices of flappy pizza. Every so often, they pull out a ROCKIN' cheese pizza, but I usually get either their Pesto Walnut or the Chicken/Bacon.

(Also, just wanted to make sure you didn't miss it…I posted a link about the taco truck for that day's post…)

  • Pizza My Heart is one of our favorite pizzas in the Bay Area. I really like the Big Sur, although the Little Sur is pretty good too. 7 yr old Daniel can eat a whole slice of the Maui (ham and pineapple).

The good thing about Pizza My Heart is that they have a frequent eater card. Eat enough slices and you get one free.

  • I wonder if I'll have a chance to go back and try some of their other pizzas. Too bad they are Bay Area only.
