Lunch: Tina and I stopped in at Swad Indian Vegetarian Restaurant (9515 N Lamar Blvd # 156, Austin, TX‎ - (512) 997-7923‎) for lunch and it was delicious!

I ordered samosa chaat which came with two tasty samosas smothered in chickpeas and served with chutneys.

Because the Fearless Critic review mentioned how nice the dahi poori looked, I ordered that. It was a bit too sweet for my personal taste and neither Tina nor I could eat more than one.

We also split a masala dosa. When it arrived I was quite surprised by how large it was - seemed to be at least 18 inches. I haven't had dosa in a while, so I was glad to have it today.

Finally, we tried their "chhole bhature". The bhatoora (fried puffy wheat flour bread) was a bit chewier than we expected - but that may have been due to the fact that we ate this dish last. The chole (chickpeas in spicy sauce) was delicious with a great blend of spices and particularly strong cumin fragrance.

We definitely ordered too much food and couldn't finish it (even though both of us wanted to just keep eating because it was so flavorful). I'll definitely go back and have the samosa chaat and masala dosa again.

Dinner: I mistakenly believed we were going to a foodie event at a location where no food was being served but we could bring our own food - so we set out to get some take out food to bring to this event (that wasn't today). We decided to try Delaware Subs and drove the nearest location to our destination (according to my GPS) only to find that particular Delaware Subs was no more and a different sub sandwich shop was in its place. This new shop proudly displayed a sign saying "Same Management" but unfortunately, they don't keep the same hours - on Sundays they closed at 6pm. So, we drove around and ended up grabbing chicken sandwiches at Wendy's near our destination. Then we found out we were a week too early - so we ate our chicken sandwiches in the car.
