(Posted late due to a power outage at 12:40 - when I was going to upload my photos. The outage lasted 7 hours and my network switch failed when the power returned.)
I ate leftovers from Won Ton house for lunch (a mix of the two claypot rice dishes).

After my Homeowner's Association Board of Directors Meeting, Tina and I decided to go to Ringerhut (1072 Saratoga Ave, San Jose, CA‎ - (408) 554-0877) for dinner. (Tina wanted ramen and we ran through our favorite options - Halu, Ringerhut, Maruichi. I chose Ringerhut because if I didn't feel like ramen when I got there, then I could get something else.) When we got there, I felt like eating the tonkatsu curry rice which comes with a side salad.

Tina ordered the special: Super Champ (short for champon, a seafood ramen from the Nagasaki region of Japan) and I tacked on a side of gyoza to it which I ate.

We also shared a black sesame pudding for dessert.

  • That's a lot of curry. It almost tastes like it's too much, without anything to sop it with.

Michael Chu, January 23rd, 2009 at 10:56 am:

  • Oh, I just mix it with the rice. The Japanese curry is more like a gravy than an Indian or Thai curry. When I was done, there was still a good chunk of rice left with a little bit of curry and it was so tasty that Tina couldn't resist having some (so I ended up eating most of the dessert!).
